You, my friend, have found yourself in “pause, palate cleanse, pause…”

This is a substack, and it’s different, because it’s simple.

Here’s a food comparison:

you know those meals where the flavors are so deliciously intense that you have to shut your eyes and wiggle your body around because it’s all just so good?

have you ever noticed that the best part is in the very first bite, and each subsequent bite is just less and less satisfying?

i think this is because when we take bite after bite after bite, we don’t give space for our systems to find neutral again; the flavors become less interesting, because we lose flavor-context.

this substack is not meant to be savory or acidic. it’s not intended to induce pleasurable moaning or cause your lips to pucker up in exhilaration. no.

you can think of this substack as a full-being palate cleanser:

a pause,

allowing your nervous system to process and reset

before you leave this page,

and continue on

with your journey

of living.
